Christine Farner, City Secretary City of Springtown P.O. Box 0000 Springtown, AR 00000
Dear Ms. Farner:
Please accept the enclosed resume in application for the position of Chief of Police with the City of Springtown. Having served as the Assistant Chief of Police of Springtown for over 15 years, I am now prepared to take the next step and provide our growing community with strong, progressive leadership.
My resume will verify that I meet all the necessary experience, educational, and skill-based requirements for this position. However, what my resume may not fully indicate is the level of dedication I offer to the community of Springtown. Being the public safety leader of a community with close to 15,000 residents is a substantial responsibility; not only is the Chief of Police the prime media spokesperson, head investigator, and lead program coordinator for the police department, but he or she is also one of the most visible role models in the community.
Throughout my career, as various community members will verify, I have demonstrated deep involvement in Springtown's civic activities and community improvement programs, and my efforts as the Assistant Chief of Police have been recognized through awards from both Springtown College and the Springtown Rotary Club. As the Chief of Police, I would bring an even greater level of devotion to the Springtown community.
In addition, I am a strong advocate of progressive ideas and continual development. As laws, technologies, and times change, so must Springtown adapt with new law enforcement strategies, policies, and implementations.
One of my central goals if selected as Chief of Police would be to introduce new programs that further promote Springtown's reputation as a safe, attractive community. I envision the police department doing even more to make Springtown the type of community that encourages businesses and families to make it their permanent home.
Again, my resume is enclosed to provide you with additional details concerning my background and qualifications. I look forward to the opportunity to interview for this position.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Arnold Den
