Dear Hiring Authority,
After 20 years as a successful small-business owner, I'm changing career directions to follow my longtime desire to be a financial planner. To that end, I am currently enrolled in a CFP program.
Although I have no professional experience as a financial planner, I have frequently advised others on investment strategies. In my own case, I developed an investment strategy for my portfolio that yielded an annual return of 10.5% for a 10-year period ending 12/31/01. I also managed the disbursement of assets for 2 estates.
I can be characterized as an entrepreneur with sound business judgment, maturity, good sales skills, and high integrity. I enjoy challenges that require learning new skills and interacting with the public. I am steady and patient, having built my own business from the ground up to more than $500,000 in annual revenues.
My goal is an exciting and rewarding position with a company facing new prospects. I am eager to participate in any training process that will build on my skills and provide the knowledge I need to be successful.
I prefer to stay in the metropolitan New York City area, but will consider attractive opportunities in the tri-state region. I would prefer to travel no more than 50% of the time.
Sincerely,
Samantha Drew
