Dear Dr. Den:
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Master of Arts–Psychology graduate from UIC and am presently conducting a search for a position in an accredited mental health agency or psychotherapy practice. Please review the attached curriculum vitae as it may relate to potential opportunities that might exist within your organization.
My CV indicates that I have 10+ years of experience working in the business world prior to my enrollment at UIC, as well as my current position as a Psychotherapist and previous counseling internship. In my business career, I interacted with many different personality types and developed a keen interest in general psychological issues of adults.
I frequently dealt with difficult customers and felt limited in my ability to assist them beyond the boundaries of my employers’ products or services. I finally concluded that I could best serve people if I had more knowledge of human behavior, which is why I chose to enter the field of professional psychology. Since your agency provides services for adult populations, I feel that my current experience, academic coursework and business background represent a good fit.
I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss my educational and professional background in relation to the needs of your agency’s clientele. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Oliver Twist
