Dear Practice Manager:
My previous five-year-long position as a Medical Receptionist/Biller was the best job of my life! I enjoyed the patients and my coworkers. I loved the challenges it presented and that each day was different. My most recent job took me away from the medical field, and I have really missed it. That's why I am contacting you-to learn about employment opportunities for an experienced, effective, and, most important, motivated receptionist/biller/administrative support provider. My resume describes my experience.
When you review my resume, I hope you will notice that, although I have been working with engineers and automobiles instead of patients and charts, the same skills are important. For example, in my current position I must be highly accurate when working with vehicle part numbers. That isn't much different from coding patient charts with the precise ICD-9 numbers. Among my responsibilities is keeping track of vehicles, keys, and projects. That ability to multitask is equally valuable in a medical office. Also, people are people, and I believe I possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Bottom line, I am eager to get back into the medical field to share my
enthusiasm and commitment to patients. I am confident that I would be an
enhancement to your practice. I am prepared to work hard to get back up to
speed with the billing side of the office as quickly as I can. I hope you will give me
a call to arrange an interview. Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Austin Parker
