Dear Hiring Manager:
Your advertisement for a Police Office Recruit caught my attention as it seems an ideal match for my experience and talents. As a disciplined, self-motivated individual with experience in corrections and three years of military service, I believe I am someone who can be an asset to the Raritan Bay Police Department. With a demonstrated commitment to service and a solid set of skills to offer, I would like to explore the possibility of putting my skills to work for you.
As you can see from my resume, my background in corrections and in the military has afforded me extensive training opportunities, and I am knowledgeable in many areas that relate to law enforcement. In addition, I have nine years of service to the community as a rescue squad member.
Currently CPR-certified, I previously held certification as an EMT as well. Among my other strengths, I have demonstrated the ability to accurately assess difficult situations, make sound judgments and respond appropriately. With strong interpersonal skills, I am effective in dealing with people and building trust. In addition, I am a fast learner, someone who is eager to continue to develop and grow.
Law enforcement holds great appeal for me as it is my ambition to make a difference in the community. Therefore, I would enjoy the opportunity to discuss your needs and how I might be able to meet them. Please feel free to contact me at the address and phone number listed below.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Andrew Carter
