Dear Chairman:
With strong family roots in Birmingham County and 10 years of broad-based Chamber experience, I feel my qualifications make me an ideal candidate for the president position with the Birmingham Chamber.
Born and raised in Mountain Brook and a graduate of Central High School, I know the Birmingham community very well. As Senior Vice President of the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce, I have full P&L responsibility for a $1.6 million budget encompassing production and sales, membership, and operations. While Vice President of Publications and Directory, I directed a staff of 11 in successfully meeting or exceeding annual financial objectives for five consecutive years.
My chamber experience includes…
- implementation of innovative programs and benefits to expand and retain membership;
- sales and production of the only chamber-produced directory in the United States;
- documented success in establishing long-term, mutually beneficial and profitable corporate liaisons and alliances; and
- the establishment of a network of contacts to maintain the strong community tie.
I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss in more detail how my experience might benefit the Birmingham Chamber and will give you a call early next week to make sure you have received my resume and to answer any questions you may have. I look forward to speaking with you.
Sincerely,
Marry Lawrence
